This years’ World Series held at New Smyrna Speedway during Speedweeks was definitely an improvement over our 2007 results. The Winstead Motorsports team finished 3rd overall in points after leading the point standings as well as leading couple of the races. We were still in the running for the Championship until the last night when a part failure in the engine relegated us to a 15th place finish effectively ruining any chances at the championship. Our results throughout the week were: 3rd, 4th, 4th, 4th, Mother Nature won night 5 with a rainout, and a 15th place finish the final night.

We had some excellent exposure for our sponsors this year as the races were web cast to over 30,000+ individual IP addresses as well as appearing on several local TV channels tape delay all over FL. We were also filmed and interviewed for a NASCAR images short-track DVD and website.
