1. B&C SEAFOOD FIREWORKS 50 – Langley Speedway

    July 16, 2009 by Winstead

The #99, Commonwealth Environmental Associates car qualified 3rd verses the track regular weekly drivers. Langley Speedway has a two-tire rule and since this was the 99’s team first race there this year, they were forced to pick two tires out of the “tire shed”. Unfortunately this was not a great option for the team as ten laps into the race one of the tires started delaminating. Needless to say the handling on the car suffered dramatically, and the 99 started working it’s way backwards. A 9th place finish is all that could be salvaged out of this maiden voyage east of I-64 to the 3/8 of a mile track located in Hampton VA.

  2. MOTHER NATURE WINS – Orange County Speedway

    by Winstead

After a hot and sun filled day at Orange County Speedway, afternoon rain bands forced the cancellation of the tour’s 5th event of the season. This was after the 16 cars in attendance took their qualifying time trails to set the field for the event that Mother Nature would win. It was A.J. Winstead in the #99 Commonwealth Environmental Associates car capturing the pole position with a new track record of 14.94 seconds.
ISCARS has rescheduled the event for August 22nd and we will let fans and competitors know if the tour will participate in the event. RTM officials would like to thank all of the racers and their teammates who made the drive to Rougemont.
The tour now looks just up the road from OCS to quite possibly the biggest event of the year, as the tour will compete at South Boston Speedway on August 8th with the USAR Pro Cup Series.
