The Rolling Thunder Modifieds were the fourth event of the day, running 75 laps with Brandon Oakley leading the field to the green. Billy Morris jumped the start but was allowed to keep his first place position. The race only went green for 10 laps before Eldon Zacek Jr. spun A.J. Winstead as they got together coming out of turn two. The green flew three laps later with Morris leading Oakley. On lap 17, the caution flew for Gary Wheaton. As John Petrozelle spun into the inside wall as the cars began to slow. The green flew on lap 20 and Morris continued to lead. The top 5 at the 25 lap mark were Morris, Oakley, Chris Hoylman, Rodney Cook and Cale Gale.
The field took the halfway flags under caution and went back to green on the next lap. Morris led the field to the green with Oakley second, Hoylman third, Gale fourth and Cook fifth. The battle for the lead heated up as the field came to the stripe for lap 50. Oakley dove under Morris into turn three and took the lead. Morris drifted up the track and proceeded to lose second, third and fourth. It appeared as though Morris had a tire going down but he kept after it. The car of Chris Brown lost a wheel coming down the front straight and turned right into the outside wall, bringing out the caution on lap 58.
The field came back to green on lap 62 with Oakley leading Gale. Hoylman was third, Trevor Edwards had moved up to fourth and Cook was fifth. Gale muscled his way past Oakley with six laps to go to take the lead and Oakley quickly fell into the clutches of Hoylman. With two to go Hoylman dove under Oakley going into one, they touched wheels and Oakley went around, bringing out another caution and setting up a green-white-checkered finish. The lineup for the final dash was Gale, Hoylman, Edwards, Winstead and Cook. Michael Leech spun coming out of turn two and brought out another caution. That allowed Oakley to catch up to the top 5 and restart in sixth place. The second green-white-checkered was a success as Cale Gale came home with the win followed by Hoylman, Edwards, Winstead and Oakley, who was able to work past Cook coming out of turn four to take the checkered flag. Although he had an engine problem, Joe Scarbrough was able to secure the series championship thanks to starting the race.
